Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Trailer ft. Jude, Nate and Depp is a Wizarding treat

The Harry Potter universe is only expanding and Potterheads would want nothing else! The latest trailer of Fantastic Beats: The Crimes of Grindelwald was released on Saturday, July 21 at the Comic Con. The trailer does exactly what the title says! It is the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them and begins where the prequel ends. For Potterheads, much-awaited answers and mysteries are solved, while for others new questions arise.

In the 1997 film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerous Stone, Harry finds himself standing in front of the Mirror of Erised where he sees his parents who he wishes were by his side. There, he finds Dumbledore lost in his thoughts, staring at the mirror too. When Dumbledore finds Harry visiting the mirror often, he asks him not to linger on to thoughts and wishes that won’t come true. Harry agrees but on one condition, he asks Professor Dumbledore who he saw in the mirror. To this, the professor says he saw wooden socks because he never got them for Christmas. At the time, it seems believable but also comes as a coy lie.

In the new trailer, we are taken back to Hogwarts and we see a younger Newt (than its prequel film), young Professor Albus Dumbledore and his old friend Grindelwald. The trailer begins with the answer the most awaited question – who did Dumbledore really see in the mirror? Here, we see, it was none other than Grindelwald, who looks back at him. In an earlier interview writer, JK Rowling mentioned that Dumbledore was in fact gay. And his friendship with Grindelwald could just be more than it seems like.

On the other hand, the trailer also focuses singularly on one thing. Grindelwald, who was incarcerated in the prequel has managed to escape the bars and is now out, free and wilder than ever. He is out on a quest to gather an army that will rule over the non-magical muggles. And then we have Professor Albus, who want to defeat his old friend his in evil doings. But he says he cannot do it and hence, picks Newt. Is this because he is emotionally attached to Grindelwald? Guess we’ll get the answers only when we see the film on November 16, 2018.

Just like the name, the trailer promises some fantastic magic and amazing beasts, many of these previously not seen in the prequel and a few to take you ahead in time with nostalgia (since the Harry Potter series take place after this).
