Oscar 2018: Allison Janney wins the Best Supporting Actress for I, Tonya

"I did it all by myself", said Allison Janney as she held the golden award.

In a tough battle with the bests, Allison Janney made her way to win the Best Supporting Actress for LaVona Golden in I, Tonya. The first time nominee for the Academy Awards, Allison won the award leaving behind Laurie Metcalf of Lady Bird who was possibly Janney’s closest competition in this category.

Metcalf wasn't the only one. The category saw noteworthy nominations including Lesley Manville for Phantom Thread, Octavia Spencer for The Shape of Water, and Mary J Blige for Mudbound.

I, Tonya is the story of Harding who is the disgraced American figure skater banned from the sport after an investigation is conducted for her involvement in an attack on rival Olympia - Nancy Kerrigan.
