Is Brad Pitt Jennifer Aniston's lobster?

Yes. This is basically what Twitter has boiled down to: Brad-Jen 2.0.

Jennifer Anniston recently announced her separation from partner, Justin Theroux after two and a half years of marriage. "In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship," they said in a statement.

And while there were a few grieved tweets, we can't say the same about most. Twitter took off with people wondering if and how her ex-husband Brad Pitt figures into the saga. The two who were married for 5 years split after Pitt met his Mr & Mrs Smith co-star and future wife, Angelina Jolie. However, in September 2016, the two filed for divorce. But for many, one-time TV goddess Aniston and generally still-current movie hunk Pitt remain Hollywood’s true golden couple.

And finally, now, social media is mercifully void of the 'love is dead' laments that generally follow in the wake of a celebrity break-up. With Pitt and Aniston both unattached - there's nothing we love more than two lonely hearts coming back together.

Twitter romantics like to believe that Aniston, 49, and Pitt, 53, were truly made for each other. Maybe they think this because both are blonde, pretty and down to earth, relatively speaking, and at least compared to a force of nature like Jolie. These romantics like to believe that Pitt’s relationship with Jolie, 42, was just a long detour — albeit one involving six kids — on his journey to again finding true love and eternal happiness with Aniston.

Earlier in January, it was reported that Jennifer "dropped by" Pitt’s sprawling estate in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles and, for the first time, ended up meeting some of his kids. Allegedly, Aniston dropped off a book on interior design.

“Taking the situation in stride, Brad casually introduced them to her as they played,” the source told In Touch. “Jen was taken by how kind, well-mannered and unaffected they seemed. She especially got a kick out of Knox, who is the spitting image of a young Brad.”

However just like the episode Pitt starred in the infamous 'Friend' series, this too was 'The One with the Rumour'. Hopefully, the upcoming ones won't be. Here's to hoping!
