Today will go down in history when a class photo was done right. And no, we're not talking about your run-of-the-mill high school photo which was memed. Nuh uh. We're talking about the EPIC, MONUMENTAL, HISTORIC, GRAND, and a dash of heroic, class photo that had all 79 stars and filmmakers of the Marvel Cinematic Universe... wait for it... in ONE FRAME!
We'll list down a few present (hold your breath for this one): Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Josh Brolin, Don Cheadle, Sebastian Stan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Tom Hiddleston, Benicio del Toro, Idris Elba, Jon Favreau, William Hurt, Benedict Wong, Linda Cardellini, Danai Gurira, Leticia Wright, Florence Kasumba, Peter Dinklage, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel.
Now this photo alone is too bright for us to look at with all the 79 stars that are shining through our computer screen however, Marvel did share some behind the scenes and oh boy, did the child in us scream back to life!
As someone who has followed the comic books and the movies, this surely does bring tears to our eyes.
The entire crew came together in Atlanta to celebrate 10 years of movie-making beginning with Iron Man in 2008. "I literally am in dead centre in the front row," said Robert Downey Jr., who made Tony Stark a film legend. "I'm looking around going, 'Any one of these people could be dead centre."
Thor, a.k.a. Chris Hemsworth too expressed the starry affair, "It felt like being at the Academy Awards or something. Every person had been in one or all of my favourite films," he explains. "I think everyone was aware this was coming to a close. We'd all been on this remarkable journey together. There was a huge excitement and buzz to that day."
Tom Holland who joined the cinematic universe in 2016 with Captain America: Civil War voiced the inner us. "There was like a sea of people who I'd grown up watching in one place hanging out," he said. Even Don Cheadle, who's been playing War Machine for eight years, admitted, "There's a ton of fanboying and fangirling going on in that room with each other." Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord, said it was a "dream come true" to be in everyone's company.
What we wouldn't do to be a fly in that room!
Now although all the characters will be featured in the upcoming Avengers 4: Infinity War, there are many favourites that we'd be saying goodbye to. However, in an interview with Vanity Fair, producer Kevin Peige said, "Marvel is 22 movies in and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before – intentionally.”
My, my... the earth just quaked.
