Giving us some ‘Monday Motivation’ in Midweek, the Metropolitan Museum of Art has disclosed some information regarding the upcoming MET Gala. Touted as the 'fashion’s biggest night out', the gala is set to take place on its usual scheduled day, that is, the first Monday of May 2023.
Speaking of the theme, this year’s gala will pay homage to the legacy of designer Karl's legacy with ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’. Andrew Bolton with Amanda Harlech, who worked closely with the late designer, would be the incharge of the exhibition. With the theme honouring Karl, the guests would be able to choose their looks from his archival at the Chanel, Fendi, Balmain, Patou and his eponymous brand.
As usual, Anna Wintour, Vogue’s Editor-In-Chief will host the star-studded event along with co-chairs Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer and Dua Lipa. The gala would start around 3.30 AM IST and can be streamed live.
Though the guest is kept under wraps until the last minute, the regular attendees such as Lady Gaga, Blake Lively, Beyonce, and hopefully Rihanna would likely make an appearance. However, it is speculated that the Kardashian sisters might skip the event entirely this year.
