Costume designer Neeta Lulla joins Hrithik Roshan and Alia Bhatt as the member of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for Class of 2020

Its indeed a celebratory moment for the Indian film and fashion fraternity people as actors Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt and costume designer, and couturier Neeta Lulla, amongst others has been invited by the Academy Awards to join The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a member for 2020. Amongst 819 artists, from all across the globe, the renowned designer will have voting privileges at the 93rd Oscars which would be held on April 25, 2021.

With her impeccable work in films like Devdas, Jodhaa Akbar, Taal, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Manikarnika, and the recent, Panipat, Lulla has an impressive body of work added to her career of 35 years.

Neeta shared the announcement on her social media space confirming the same. Talking about being an invitee at the prestigious award gala, Neeta said its a moment of pride and honour for her. “To be on this platform of select invitees is a moment of great pride and honour. To be able to represent our industry and the commendable creative work of all technicians, on an international and prestigious platform,” she continued.

The Academy’s 2020 cast spans over 68 countries and consists of 45% of the women representatives. Joining the trio of Hrithik, Alia and Neeta from India are casting director Nandini Shrikent, documentary filmmakers Nishtha Jain and Amit Madheshiya, visual effects supervisors Vishal Anand and Sandeep Kamal and film score composer Nainita Desai.
