Vogue India celebrates modern love by featuring same-sex couple Haima Simoes & Shruti Venkatesh on its February issue

February has just begun and love is in the air already. After the monumental judgment on September 6, 2018, our country wiped out the gender barriers and proved that love is love. Same-sex relationships however beautiful, are very uncommon given the country we live in. Thanks to the changing times, gay/ lesbian relationships and the LGBTQ community are not an alien concept anymore and are looked at from a wider perspective.

Celebrating the month of love, Vogue India broke barriers and featured same-sex couple Haima Simoes & Shruti Venkatesh on its February issue.

The couple was pictured in the warm embrace of their partners in their most de-glammed and raw selves. Styled by Priyanka Kapadia Badani, the couple opted for matching Ted scarf coats from label URA.

While speaking to the magazine, the couple revealed that they met in the college where things fell in place. Haima and Shruti have a tuxedo cat together that goes by the name Zola. Talking about their bond Shruti said, “We’re not just a couple, we’re also best friends. We take on everything as a team.” The duo also opened up on the ‘need for greater inclusion through a love story that is primed to inspire every generation today.’

Love like this warms our heart, doesn’t it?
