Rapper-composer Badshah wants to spread awareness about rap as an art form. The 32-year-old singer who will be soon seen judging the second season of a singing reality show – Dil Hai Hindustani revealed the real reason behind choosing the platform to judge.

In an interview, singer Badshah said:

“I chose this reality show because I wanted people to be aware about rapping; it’s a serious art. Some arts like dancing, stand-up comedy and rapping are not taken seriously into consideration. So, I want people to take this art seriously. But apart from it, I am here to have lot of fun and have a better connection with the audience. You cannot deny the fact that the reach of television is very high.”

Talking about the show, Badshah further added, “The format of the show is very exciting. It’s a new chapter; I am really excited to be a part of second season. I am the only one who will be continuing it from the previous season and I am sure the decision has been taken is in the good for the show. I absolutely have no idea the reason behind these changes, but I am sure it’s going to be great this season too.”

Apart from singing and judging, Badshah is also busy with his newly launched production house – Afterhours. It will produce innovative content for digital, film and television platforms alike and would touch upon music, fiction, performing arts, infotainment and culture.

“The first project launching under the banner will be a musical web-series titled Lockdown featuring music icons such as Raftaar, Kailash Kher, Sachin Jigar, Monali Thakur collaborating with digital stars such as Shirley Setia, Jonita Gandhi, Raja Kumari, Mickey Singh. I think digital media is the future; so I think it’s very important for any production house right now to concentrate on digital media. Also, I am looking forward to create more contents including Pujabi movies, Hindi films and many,” concludes Badshah.
