Dibyendu Bhattacharya is having a memorable year. While Raakh has emerged as one of the most talked-about shows, the actor has also impressed audiences with his performance in Alpha. In an exclusive conversation with PeepingMoon, Dibyendu spoke about the success of Raakh, his approach to acting, working with Alia Bhatt, and his upcoming projects.
'Rakh is a massive achievement'
Reacting to the overwhelming response to Raakh, Dibyendu said, "Raakh has become a massive hit. It's a huge achievement that an Indian show has entered the global blockbuster conversation. The subject is very sensitive, but it has been beautifully written and directed. My association with Prosit Roy goes back a long way, and collaborating with him is always special. Though my role is small, it's an important and substantial one."

'I'm a yes man'
The actor revealed that he doesn't believe in limiting himself to a particular image.
"I'm actually a yes man. I don't consciously pick similar roles. Even if I play a police officer repeatedly, every character has to be different. The uniform may be the same, but the person isn't. That's how I approach every role.” He added that rejecting projects is rare. "I say yes to almost 99.9 per cent of the work that comes my way. The remaining 0.1 per cent is usually because of dates, logistics or remuneration. Saying no is easy, but saying yes and creating something is much more satisfying."

On sharing screen space with Alia Bhatt in Alpha
Looking back at his experience on Alpha, Dibyendu praised director Shiv Rawail and his co-stars.
"Working with Shiv Rawail was wonderful. He's an extremely talented filmmaker and working with Yash Raj Films is always a great experience." Speaking about Alia Bhatt, he said, "My scenes are with Alia Bhatt, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor. Alia is a very professional actress and it was a pleasure working with her. Bobby Deol is also an incredibly humble person. Overall, Alpha was a fantastic experience, and I played an important character in the film."
What's next?
Apart from Alpha, Dibyendu has completed Gulaabi with Huma Qureshi. He said, "Gulaabi is nearing release. I also have Ek Ruka Hua Faisla, an Amazon series that has already been announced, and a few more films and independent projects in the pipeline," he concluded.
