365 days to COVID-19 lockdown: From household chores to workout from home, what 'aatmanirbhar' Bollywood celebs did at home

Exactly a year ago, on March 23, 2020, India came to a standstill as PM Modi announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown in the entire country. Utilizing the free time at home to the fullest were our Bollywood celebrities who made sure to inspire us all in many ways amid the lockdown. Be it with their cleaning skills or upping their grooming game, B-town celebs left no stone unturned in entertaining us. 

Today, as we complete 1 year of the first-ever lockdown, here's a look back at all the things that Bollywood actors did at home and gave us a clue on how to spend time amid a nationwide lockdown. 

HOUSEHOLD CHORES

Katrina Kaif

Posting a video of herself washing the utensils at home, one of Bollywood’s leading ladies, Katrina Kaif said that she has to wash the dishes as her house-help is in self-quarantine. Kartik Aaryan

Just like Katrina, actor, Kartik Aaryan also had to wash dishes due to the absence of his maid. The actor called the cleaning sessions as “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki…”

Deepika Padukone 

Continuing with her trend of 'productivity in the time of COVID-19', Deepika Padukone spent her time at home organising pulses and other essentials in her kitchen. The actor shared insights from her days indoors on Instagram through different episodes. 

Malaika Arora

While self-distancing herself during coronavirus, Malaika Arora showed off her cooking skills on Instagram. She cooked a “Malabari veg stew for the soul” and said that everyone is sure to love it and it goes best with rice and gluten-free, vegan-chickpea bread.

Ananya Panday

From baking cakes with sister Rysa Panday to baking cookies, Ananya did it all during the lockdown. The young actress made sure to keep boredom at bay as she took on some baking responsibilities with her sister. 

Shilpa Shetty Kundra

Shilpa Shetty Kundra also indulged in some houseld work when her househelp could not show up during the lockdown. The actress shared a hilarious video of cleaning her garden. 

IN-HOUSE SALON SERVICES 

Virat Kohli

Anushka Sharma, acted as an absolute pro, when she cut Virat Kohli's hair and well, did a fantastic job at it. Surprisingly, she did it with a pair of kitchen scissors and gave him an uber-cool gradual fade.

Vicky Kaushal

Vicky Kaushal's luscious curls had grown out during the isolation phase but since he couldn't step out, he chose to do it at home. Thanks to his younger brother, Sunny Kaushal who turned into a professional hairstylist and gave him a nice high fade short quiff.

Patralekhaa

Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt's beau Ranbir Kapoor came to her rescue when the actress needed a quick trim at home, with salons being shut during the lockdown. WORKOUT FROM HOME

Katrina Kaif

From squats to lunges, Katrina Kaif and celebrity trainer Yasmin Karachiwala started the trend of working out at home by regularly training in their individual homes via video calls. Sara Ali Khan spent her workout at home sessions with intensive Tabata workouts of 20 seconds each including burpees, squat jumps, mountain climbers, reverse lunges, shoulder taps in high plank, jumping jacks and more. Brother Ibrahim Ali Khan became the actress' workout partner and the two often shared workout videos together. 

Alaya F
