Not long ago, actress Swara Bhasker surprised her fans on social media with the news of her court marriage on February 16. Swara married her boyfriend and Samajwadi Party’s state youth president Fahad Ahmad. And now, the couple once again celebrated their relationship as well as their love for each other by tying the knot in an intimate yet grand wedding, on Monday, March 13, at her maternal grandmother’s home in Delhi.
While Swara’s wedding was an intimate affair, it was nevertheless a fun celebration with family and friends. From dancing to the beats of the desi dhol to celebrating Holi with Haldi, it was in every form, a big fat wedding.
While our bride, Swara kept it minimalistic and simple in all of her pre-wedding functions, here are some little details we loved about her looks:
HALDI
Swara kept it simple in a chikankari sharara teamed with a bandhani dupatta. Skipping the quintessential haldi ornaments she rounded off her look with a floral bun.
MEHENDI
For her Mehendi function, Swara opted for a bright orange anarkali elevated with intricate golden embroidery and a statement-making pair of earrings and a maang tika
SANGEET
Swara’s sangeet outfit featured an intricately embroidered jewel-toned lehenga with delicate embellishments.
WEDDING
For the wedding, Swara channeled her inner Telugu bride in a surreal red and gold saree by Raw Mango. Her south Indian saree was furthermore accentuated by simplistic temple jewels featuring a delicate necklace, a small nath and a classic mathapatti with Suryapirai and Chandrapirai brooch on each side. She kept her makeup subtle and completed her look with a gajra-adorned braid.
