MET Gala might have ended a long time ago but its sartorial extravaganza continues to linger. Keeping up with the Gilded Glamour theme, our favorite celebrities climbed up the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art while serving us a dramatic dose of glamour.
While many of fashion’s favorites gave us something to remember by until the next year, there were some who did not make it to the gala given various reasons. From preggers Rihanna to new mum Priyanka Chopra Jonas, here are a few divas and dapper men who were Missing In Action from the red carpet of the soiree.
RIHANNA
All set to welcome her first baby with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, Rihanna missed this year’s gala as she was too pregnant to fly from LA to the venue of the soiree. However, she was in spirit at the event as the Vogue and the museum dedicated a historic tribute.
ZENDAYA
Zendaya gave the costume gala a miss for the second time in a row and this time it was due to her work commitments. "I hate to disappoint my fans here, but I will be working. Your girl's gotta work and make some movies ... I wish everyone the best," she told Extra. However, she said that she will be back eventually. Waiting for that to happen!
PRIYANKA CHOPRA JONAS
Priyanka Chopra Jonas was not seen on the prestigious red carpet of the gala after she welcomed her baby girl with her husband Nick Jonas. Given her love for experimentation and drama, she surely have nailed this year’s theme.
DEEPIKA PADUKONE
Deepika was MIA from the event given she was in Alibaug shooting for her next film. Maybe if we are lucky the next time we would see the diva gracing the prestigious gala alongside her equally fashionable husband Ranveer Singh!
HARRY STYLES
After nailing concerts at Coachella, Harry was still seen in LA for days leading to the gala. However, it would have been interesting to see the actor and pop icon nail this year’s theme with his gender-fluid take on it.
JENNIFER LOPEZ
Jennifer Lopez skipped the gala and spent time with her fiancé actor Ben Affleck in Los Angeles. Looking at her MET Gala history over the years, we surely missed witnessing something iconic for sure.
BEYONCE
Quite a regular on the carpet, Beyoncé was missing from the gala this year. It’s a bummer because we would have definitely loved to see her SHUT the MET with her Queen style!
LADY GAGA
‘Dramatica’ Lady Gaga was absent from the soiree because of work commitments and we would wait for her to return to the red carpet like her true blue fans!
