Stylist Mohit Rai and Ridhi Bansal’s homegrown designer brand Itrh unveiled its Spring Summer collection but not without making us nostalgic. Called Disco 22, this collection pays an ode ‘to the raging 70s and the roaring 80s with a range inspired by the greatest names in music and a palette of psychedelics,’ as mentioned in their caption.
What's more? This fashion film features the music legend Bappi Lahiri in it. No retro era can be complete without iconic music legend Bappi Da’s songs and so, this collection gives us just what we wanted.
Styled by Ayesha Amin Nigam, Disco 22 unleashes a riot of colours and extravagant bling in the form of shimmery pre-draped sarees with a feisty thigh slit, deep plunge gowns with flared sleeves, turtle neck midi dresses, sparkly pantsuits, shiny shirts and co-ordinated trousers, sharara sets and so much more.
As mentioned, the colour palette ranges from popping limes to jet blacks and romantic purples to electric blues, amongst many other hues. Being on point on the glam and accessory front, one is taken back to the golden era with dewy makeup and pulled back long braids along with gold accessories.
Speaking of the veteran music director, Bappi Da is seen enjoying his own song Jimmy Jimmy in an electric blue shimmery suit set decked furthermore with his layers of gold chains, chunky bracelets, rings and a luxe watch. His look was completed with a pair of signature oversized glasses that further added to the retro charm.
