On June 4, 2021, Kaabil actress Yami Gautam tied the knot with Uri: The Surgical Strike director Aditya Dhar. The couple looked radiant and happy in their intimate wedding ceremony with a limited number of guests.
Not only did the couple keep their wedding small, but Yami herself also went for a traditional yet simple look. No extravagantly glam outfits, no detailed mehendi, just a simple wedding with her near and dear ones around, embracing her Himachali roots gloriously. Check it out!
MEHENDI
Yami is the perfect example of a pandemic bride - simple easy and sweet. The actress looked stunning in her bright orange for her mehendi. She chose to accessorise her suit with a pair of jhumkas. She went on to style her hair into a single, stylish plait. The design of her mehendi was simple and soft, as compared to the heavy mehendi designs that brides usually opt for. For makeup, Yami chose to keep it as simple as possible, with a light tint eyeshadow and a brick red lipstick.
HALDI
For her Haldi, Yami chose to go for a simple yellow silk suit with a red printed dupatta to accompany it. She chose cute shell-inspired accessories - a maang tikka and earrings with some floral elements along with the shells. The beautiful bride chose to set that makeup bag aside for the day and embrace her natural beauty and wow, did she look pretty. A stunning bride, isn't she?
KALEEREIN AND CHUDA
For a traditional Dogri tradition where the bride is presented with kaleerein, chunni, nath and payal, the actress wore a red chiffon saree with silver detailing on it. She kept her face free of all makeup and smiled brightly. The kaleerein and nath, along with the chunni, goes into the phera ceremony. The anklets gifted to the bride are given to bring in good luck.
Smiling radiantly, she was ready for the D-Day!
THE WEDDING
For the wedding, Yami wore a red saree with white detailing and a golden embroidered border. For her jewellery, the actress stuck to the typical Indian style of gold jewellery, with a choker style necklace and a second neck piece. also made of gold. The jhumkas and the maang tikka were sizeable and along with the entire attire, suited perfectly. Let's not forget her dark-rimmed eyes and red lips, this bride looked every bit of the pahadi she is!
Yami's saree and look gave us a throwback into February 2021 when Dia Mirza married Vaibhav Rekhi. Her saree for the D-Day was of the same shade of red as Yami's. In fact, their maang tikka design was similar too!
THE LOOK AFTER
In a picture she posted of her after-wedding look, the actress had changed into a red silk saree with the same gold jewellery set as her main wedding outfit. No extra glamour, nothing extravagant, just a simple and graceful intimate ceremony.
Conggratulations, Yami and Aditya!
