We live in times where fashion is no more merely represented by clothes. It’s more like the art of storytelling through silhouettes and that’s what designer Karan Torani has been doing. Founder of his eponymous label Torani, Delhi-based Karan has been curating handcrafted luxury clothing inspired by his Sindhi background.
Featuring muse Tanya Maniktala, Torani’s latest collection ‘Naveli’ narrates the story of a newly-wed bride and her inner excitement, new rush and chaotic feeling all rolled into one. With henna-clad hands and solah shringar ‘Naveli’ Tanya gave an insight of her newly married life musing in the collection’s exquisite ethnic pieces.
For her D-day, Tanya made for a beautiful Torani bride dressed in a velvet red suit that bore delicate embroidery on the neckline as well as the sleeves. An embroidered and tasseled dupatta draped over her head covered her braid. Bridal red chooda, kaleeras layers of necklaces and a mangalsutra accentuated her bridal look.
Check out some looks of Tanya musing in Torani’s collection.
With velvets, embellishments and floral details, Torani certainly captures the essence of a new bride dressed in salwar suits and lehengas. Hues like royal and aqua blue, popping yellows and radiant reds comprised his new collection.
What made this collection all the more unique were its storytelling videos voiced by Torani bride Tanya which kept us invested and intrigued for the next episode of her life.
We for one can’t wait for more pictures, what about you?
