Diwali 2019: Jabra Jodi! Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor to Shahid Kapoor-Mira Rajput, power couples that made eyes pop and jaws drop with their ethnic game

Apart from being a festival of joy and lights, the occasion of Diwali also works as a fashion inspiration our B-town divas and dapper men show up dressed in their ravishing best. Just like every year, this year’s Diwali bash was no exception either as we witnessed the tinsel town celebs dressed to the nines.

As they say, couples that slay together, stay together! For this year’s soiree, we witnessed some of our power couples taking the festive dressing a notch higher. Wondering who they are? Check it out for yourself!

VIRAT KOHLI AND ANUSHKA SHARMA

Virat and Anushka were by far the best-dressed couple we had seen! Styled by Allia Al Rufai, Virushka was a ravishing treat to our sore eyes in ensembles from Sabyasachi. Anushka put on a show of colours with her intricately embroidered lehenga and encrusted jewels from the designers' collection. Giving a perfect contrast to wifey’s look, Virat opted for a toned-down and subtle ensemble from Sabyasachi. A crisp white asymmetrical kurta with red pocket square and gold buttons was all that he needed to stand out along with his better half.

SAIF ALI KHAN AND KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN

Be it any occasion or festival, the Pataudis sure know how to put on a show in all their glory! Power couple Kareena and Saif opted for a fuss-free and regal look for this year’s festivities. Styled by Tanya Ghavri, Bebo was like a breath of fresh air in this printed Good Earth lehenga that she paired with turquoise blue dupatta and an encrusted neckpiece from Shri Ram Hari Ram Jewellers. Darling hubby Saif twinned with his begum in a custom made printed kurta paired with a koti and pink pocket square from Raghavendra Rathore.

Apart from these two, there were some other couples who grabbed some serious attention with their sartorial game but missed a mark with just a point!

SAHID KAPOOR AND MIRA RAJPUT

Shahid and Mira were a pure feast to our eyes dressed in pastel hues. Mira looked all things beautiful in her sequined blouse and ruffled drape from the label Jade while Shahid complemented his better half in a serene pastel kurta and pyjama from Kunal Rawal label.

MADHURI DIXIT NENE AND SHRIRAM NENE

Madhuri and along with her better half made some heads turn at the gala with their ravishing looks. She looked like a 'phuljhadi' in a sequined Manish Malhotra drape and we are just awe-struck! Complementing the dhak dhak girl, Dr. Shriram opted for a kurta pyjama that he teamed up with a koti.

DULQUER SALMAAN AND AMAL SUFIYA

One such gorgeous pair who made heads turns at the soiree were Dulquer and his wife, Amal Sufiya. DQ stole our heart away with his Jodhpuri pants and band gala while Amal dazzled in an off shouldered lehenga.

RAJKUMMAR RAO AND PATRALEKHA

Raj and Patra painted an elegant picture dressed in ethnic ensembles. Rao looked every bit dapper in his printed kurta and pants while Patra added to the bling affair of the soiree in a Tarun Tahiliani drape. She let her hair down and opted for scarlet red lips to go with her look.

VARUN DHAWAN AND NATASHA DALAL

Varun and Natasha added on to the glamour of the gala dressed in traditional attire. Varun grabbed some serious attention teaming up his kurta pyjama with an open buttoned sherwani. Natasha, on the other hand, cut out a scintillating picture with her embellished lehenga.

SOHA ALI KHAN AND KUNAL KEMMU

Soha and Kunal were dressed to kill twinning in the shades of pink. She paired her embellished lehenga from A&R with a pair of statement-making accessories from Tyaani. Kunal looked suave in the pastel pink kurta and pants which he teamed up with a cream-hued koti and a red pocket square.

Apart from these names, there were some who made an effort but failed to ignite any sparks!

TARA SUTARIA AND AADAR JAIN

Well, the famous sequined Manish Malhotra drape paired with a super-plungy blouse did not work out for this beaut. We wish she could have worked this drape some other way. Moreover, her makeup looked caked and did not blend in. Standing next to Tara was Aadar sporting an asymmetrical band gala and pants.

SONAM KAPOOR AHUJA AND ANAND AHUJA

Sonam failed to shine this time around with her overwhelming look in Anamika Khanna. She has already sported this look before and did not bring anything new to the table that would make us go WOW! Also, going overboard with accessories dint help her case either. However, Anand was dressed sharply in a black kurta pyjama teamed up with a bandh gala minus his trademark sneakers!

Well, tell us which jodi was your favourite?
