Yash Chopra’s Birth Anniversary Special: Rekha to Sridevi, actresses who immortalized the legendary filmmaker’s idea of 'quintessential heroine'

The King of Romance, a progressive filmmaker and a man with a vision, late Yash Chopra was all of this and so much more. He was known to make cinemas which were strong, gripping and all about love. Films like Daag, Kabhie Kabhie, Lamhe were way ahead of its time as he touched upon the concepts of a complicated love triangle, marriage and infidelity that other directors would steer clear of.  Although some of his progressive classics were not that well-received by the audience when they were first released, that didn’t stop this legendary filmmaker to be different than the rest of the lot. His evergreen films and an idea of romance for all age group is something that we will forever miss!

Not just iconic films, Yashi ji have introduced some prominent names and faces to the cinematic world and fashion industry. He was the one who brought in the new era of heroines that were more than just a pretty face. They were bold, sexy and glamorous. Gorgeous women decked up in pretty chiffon sarees on the Swiss mountains was his idea of a ‘heroine’ and he sure started that trend.
