Kate Middleton Dons Diana’s Favourite Tiara At The White Tie Palace Party

The Dutchess of Cambridge – Kate Middleton, was seen sparkling in diamonds, as she and Prince William were spotted stepping out for the annual winter party, at Buckingham Palace. Supposedly, one of the largest parties the Queen hosts every year. Wearing the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, Kate looked nothing less than true royalty! Kate, who’s pregnant with her third child, after Prince George and Princess Charlotte, paired the iconic tiara with pearl danglers and a diamond necklace.

The iconic Lover’s Knot headpiece was gifted to Princess Diana, as a wedding gift from the Queen, and was supposedly Diana’s favorite.

The Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot tiara, which is also called as the Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara, is actually two separate pieces. The tiara which is little more than a century old, was commissioned from the famous jewelers – Garrard. Queen Mary had ordered a copy to be made of this iconic tiara from these renowned jewelers. The original Lover’s Knot Tiara was later on auctioned for more than $747,000 dollars and is currently held in an unknown private collection.
