"I cannot wait to marry Brent!" - Aashka

After her debut in television with the serial Achanak 37 Saal Baad, it wasn't long before the beautiful Aashka Goradia went on to become a household name by doing serials like Kkusum, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahiin to Hoga Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka, Mere Apne, and others. The television actress is now all set to say 'I do' to her fiancé Brent Goble.

Peeping Moon met up with the lovely couple for a super cool interview.

With D-Day just a few days away, how are you feeling? Experiencing any pre-wedding jitters?

Aashka: No jitters for me. I cannot wait to marry this man (pointing towards Brent).
Brent: The nervousness about whether or not Aashka accepts my proposal is off my shoulders (smiles). I think if at all there is any nervousness or jitters, it’s only because of the wedding logistics that need to be taken care of.

Aashka, December seems to be the luckiest month for you. While last year’s December saw Brent Goble proposing marriage, this December you're all set to walk down the aisle. Should we be expecting something special next December too?

Aashka: (With a naughty smile) Oh, Not really. Not that soon! We want to enjoy our marriage. But December is definitely special. It was Brent’s wish to have all the things happen in the month of December as its Christmas time and his family has holidays. Also, as per the Hindu calendar, December works out to be the best month to get married.
Brent: And even the weather’s awesome in December (smiles).

What’s the most romantic thing that you both have done for each other?

Aashka: The most romantic thing that he has ever done for me was to propose to me in front of his entire family. He also read out a beautiful note about Lord Shiva from one of my favorite texts.
Brent: I cannot single out one specific incident. Aashka has changed everything for me. She has restructured her life to fit me in and she has done it so beautifully!

Aashka, how does it feel to be getting married to a man who loves you so enough to not want you to change your surname?

Aashka: I don’t see this from an emotional perspective. All I know is that when two people come together in a union, there's no such thing as a ‘compulsion’. He does not want me to walk away from something (my name) I put in so many years to build. And a lot of men should take this as an inspiration. When you marry a woman, you are not taking away her individuality. The fact remains that you are actually marrying her individuality.

Aashka, now that your Naagin’s co-star Mouni Roy is all set to enter Bollywood, how do you feel?

Aashka: We all have phases. Mouni is in a phase which is being dreamt of and desired by every other actor. I wish her all the best from the bottom of my heart. We just want everything going well for her.

One of your social media posts about Brent stated that his smile was a reminder for you to continue to believe in fairy tales. Now that you are getting married to him, has your faith in fairy tales become 10,000 times strong?

Aashka: Yes! Very, very much. What really reinstates my faith in fairy tales is that there is nothing beyond what you really want for your life and that you sketch your own life.

Amongst the regular guests, is there anyone special whom you will be inviting for the marriage?

Aashka: We both have invited people who have played a great role in shaping our careers. As for a special person, Brent’s grandpa wanted to make it, but because of his old age, he won’t be able to. I also wanted my grandpa to be with us but he is no longer with us. I'm sure that their blessings are with us.

You and Brent had participated in the dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye’. Any plans for a surprise dance performance during the wedding?

Brent: We are both working on it. Stay tuned…. (smiles).

You have ‘been there, done that’ in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house. What do you think of this season? Are you following the show? And who do you feel is the potential winner?

Aashka: I am too engrossed in my wedding. As for the show, since it’s way too audience-based, it’s really not possible for me to predict the winner. I just want to tell the contestants that whenever you come out of the house it will be the good things for which you will be remembered and not the bad. I also want to tell them not to get too crazy about winning the show.

Is it true that you will be doing your own makeup for your wedding?

Aashka: Oh yes! And, I am very excited.

Brent had appeared with you in ‘Nach Baliye’, for which he got lots of appreciation. Any plans for him venturing into films or TV?

Aashka: He is open to good work. Apart from investing in SMEs and being a steady investor in India, dance is something he'll be doing as a hobby.

What is the secret of a lifetime relationship?

Brent and Aashka: That’s really an interesting question for us as we are just about to start our new lives. We always support one another and are always open to develop and blossom our communication so that both the people in the relationship feel respected.
