Diljit Dosanjh has made the final call, and it's a “No.” After months of speculation and uncertainty surrounding his involvement in ‘No Entry 2,’ PeepingMoon.com can confirm that Diljit has officially exited the much-awaited sequel to Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan’s 2005 cult comedy.
Diljit, however, has not stepped away due to the reported creative differences or the controversy surrounding Hania Amir’s casting in ‘Sardaar 3.’ His departure is solely the result of irreconcilable scheduling conflicts. The Punjabi singer-actor was supposed to play one of the three leading men alongside Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor in this Anees Bazmee directorial, produced by Boney Kapoor.
Reports of Diljit's exit first surfaced in May, but Boney Kapoor personally met the actor in July — while he was filming ‘Border 2’ — and persuaded him to reconsider. For weeks, Diljit and his team attempted to align his schedule with the film’s shooting plan, but the logistics proved insurmountable. The makers wanted to begin shooting in October, which doesn't work in favor of Diljit, as he has his “Aura Tour” lined up in Australia and New Zealand from October 26 to November 13. Following this, he has several other film commitments, leaving no viable dates for ‘No Entry 2.’
“Diljit’s packed touring schedule was becoming a challenge for the No Entry team. The film requires extensive planning for its massive sequel, and unfortunately, Diljit’s dates just couldn’t align. Given these constraints, both sides have amicably and mutually decided to part ways,” a source close to the project told us.
The makers are now looking for a replacement and are said to have already initiated talks with several actors. Shooting timelines will depend on the casting, but sources are suggesting that it might face a further delay as it would be quite challenging to find a leading young star on such short notice, as most of them are unavailable until next year.
