Speculations were rife that Shraddha Kapoor would team up with ‘Tumbbad’ director Rahi Anil Barve for a high-concept thriller produced by Ekta Kapoor. While the project promised to be a thrilling and ambitious venture, PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned that Shraddha is no longer attached to this film.
Talks are said to have fizzled out after Shraddha and Ekta couldn't agree on the financial terms. According to sources, Shraddha, fresh off from the blockbuster success of ‘Stree 2’, was reportedly demanding an upfront fee of Rs. 17 crore plus a share of the film’s profits. Which Ekta is believed to have felt was too high and not financially feasible for a women-led film, especially in today’s volatile theatrical market. Shraddha’s proposed fee was among the highest for a Bollywood actress and would have significantly inflated the film’s overall budget, rendering the project economically unviable.
With Shraddha's departure, the producers are now recasting the lead role and have already initiated talks with other prominent actresses. Meanwhile, Shraddha continues to evaluate multiple offers from various film industries but has yet to officially sign her next project. She is said to be in active discussions with Dinesh Vijan, Boney Kapoor, and Bhushan Kumar for potential collaborations, with plans to finalize her next film within the next two months.
On the other hand, Rahi Anil Barve has resumed pre-production for his Netflix series, ‘Rakt Brahmand’, three months after it halted shooting due to a reported financial fraud on set. The fantasy period drama series, starring Aditya Roy Kapoor, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ali Fazal, is said to have undergone extensive script revisions and will now commence filming next month in Mumbai. The director is expected to shift his focus to Ekta Kapoor’s thriller only after ‘Rakt Brahmand’ has completed production.
