Peeping Moon Exclusive: Sidharth Malhotra's 'Vvan' pulled out of 2025 calendar

Sidharth Malhotra’s folk thriller ‘Vvan: Force of the Forest’ has officially been removed from the 2025 theatrical release calendar. Initially slated for a Chhath Puja release in November, the Balaji Motion Pictures and The Viral Fever (TVF) production venture has been postponed to 2026 due to production delays.

Described as a “Kantara-style folklore based on the Chhath Puja traditions of Bihar,” ‘Vvan’ is scheduled to begin filming in June — approximately six months later than originally planned. The delay is attributed to Malhotra’s commitments to Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Param Sundari’ and the abrupt exit of Sara Ali Khan from the project. Tamannaah Bhatia, who has recently gained attention for her popular dance numbers, will now play the female lead, portraying a commanding and dynamic character. Directed by Arunabh Kumar and Deepak Mishra, ‘Vvan’ promises a richly woven tale rooted in regional folklore and cultural history.
