PeepingMoon Exclusive: 'The qualities I look for are not easy to find, I doubt that's going to happen in Bigg Boss 16 house,' says Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia on finding love on the show

Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia became a household name with the success of Choti Sarrdaarni. She played the dual role of Meher and Seher in the show. After much anticipation, Nimrit was introduced as the first contestant of Bigg Boss 16 on Saturday.

In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon.com, Nimrit spoke about her expectations from Bigg Boss 16. For the unversed, Nimrit was given the chance to become the first captain of the house on the premiere night. Excerpts from the interview:

What’s your expectation from Bigg Boss 16?

I am expecting to have a lot of fun and make new memories.

Were you approached for any previous season?

No, I wasn't because before this, I was doing Choti Sarrdaarni

You’ve done TV in the past. Why did you choose a reality show over fictional ones?

With Choti Sarrdaarni, I made a place in people’s hearts with the characters I played. Through Bigg Boss 16, I want to reach out to people and give them an opportunity to know who Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia is.

In the past, actors have benefitted from Bigg Boss, personally and professionally too. Are you expecting the same?

I have been a fool to have expectations in life before and I have only learnt from that. Something that has worked for someone might not necessarily apply to others as well. I would like to go with an open mind and not think way too ahead of time and focus on my present.

It is often said that actors do Bigg Boss either due to lack of income or unemployment. Some are often shamed for it too. Do such notions affect you too?

These notions don’t affect me because it is their trajectory. These opinions don’t apply to me.

Are you open to finding love on the show?

Life is very unpredictable. To be honest, the qualities I look for in a partner are probably not too easy to find. I doubt I am going to find that in any contestant in the house.

Who is your favourite previous contestant?

It has to be Gauahar Khan. I feel she is a really strong lady. She has inspired women to be headstrong. She did Bigg Boss almost a decade ago and continues to be a leading voice for women.
