Arjun Kapoor was our star guest in the first episode of PeepingMoon.com’s special segment, Let’s Talk Season 3 Part 1 with Managing Editor Ankita Bhalla. In the exclusive heart-to-heart conversation, the actor spoke about the perils of social media and how his cousins Khushi Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor even though are yet to debut on celluloid are as famous as him on the platform.

Arjun spoke about how social media has made people accessible with celeb kids having thousands of followers on their personal accounts irrespective of the fact whether they are working in the film industry or not. Citing examples of his young sisters Khushi and Shanaya, Arjun said, “Today whether you debut or not is immaterial, if you’re somebody’s child then you’re already in the limelight. My sisters Khushi Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor, they are as known on social media and digital space even without giving a film out to the audience. But that means there is an intrigue, there is an understanding but that does not mean that there is an acceptance yet.”

He continued and said, “Hamare time pe, it feels weird to say this but 10 years ago there was no social media as such, so I was not known by anybody before I made my debut in Ishaqzaade, the industry knew me but that doesn’t count. We had a poster come out and there was a certain amount of understanding that there is somebody’s son making a debut in a Yash Raj productions but it wasn’t a launch, it wasn’t a big announcement beyond the norm. My photos were not available in the market because Aditya sir had told me that don’t step out in public. My images where I was overweight with Katrina was there, so I was a very different looking person in the images that were floating around versus what my first poster imagery was. I think there was one image given out by Yash Raj to announce the fact that I would be a part of their next film with me in a leather jacket, that’s it.”

On the work front, Arjun is gearing up for his release EK Villain Returns on July 29 and has The Ladykille and Kuttey in the pipeline.
