PeepingMoon Exclusive: Tiger Shroff to headline Kesari director Anurag Singh's next Amazon Prime actioner?

Bollywood’s young action star, Tiger Shroff, is currently shooting for two films simultaneously. He has been juggling his dates between Ahmed Khan’s Heropanti 2 and Vikas Bahl’s two-part actioner, Ganapath. While the Heropanti sequel is more or less completed and ready for release on April 29th, Bahl’s London-based thriller is expected to be wrapped up by April 2022. Tiger’s recently announced action-comedy Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Akshay Kumar goes on floors only later this year. So what’s he doing between May and October 2022? Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that Tiger is in advanced talks with Kesari director Anurag Singh for a global action drama.

Industry sources have informed us that Tiger will headline Anurag Singh’s next, yet-untitled, big-scale action thriller for Amazon Prime Video. The streaming giant is producing this film, however, it’s yet unknown if the film will have a theatrical release or premiere directly on the service. "Anurag and Tiger have been discussing this film for the past three months, and it finally seems to be happening now. The actor has given his final nod and the modalities are fast being worked upon. It’s one of the biggest Indian productions coming out of Amazon Prime and will see Tiger stepping into a completely different horizon," the source told us.

We have also heard that the makers have approached a big Hollywood actor to play the villain in this thrilling action drama. His name has been kept under wraps as the discussions are at a very early stage and the actor in question hasn’t given his nod yet. "This Amazon Prime film will be made to a global standard and be shot in multiple countries across the world. Tiger will undergo some rigorous training for this film soon after finishing Ganapath and will start shooting in July 2022. Anurag has already begun his preparation and will soon fly to a foreign country for a recce," the source further added.

The Tiger Shroff film marks Amazon Prime Video's second film production in India after the upcoming Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu, which was announced last March in association with Cape of Good Films, Abundantia Entertainment, and Lyca Productions. The action-adventure drama that brings forward a story deeply rooted in Indian culture and historical heritage will be released in cinemas on Diwali 2022, followed by an OTT premiere on Amazon Prime Video two weeks later. The streaming service is also believed to be producing Sunny Kaushal's Kaneda in partnership with Anushka Sharma's Clean Slate Filmz.
