PeepingMoon Best of 2021: That kind of motivation propels you to do more - Ranveer Singh on being the potential contender for winning the National Award for '83

Ranveer Singh is basking in the glory that is coming his way for his brilliant performance as former Indian cricketer and captain Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan’s ’83. His impeccable act has spurred the talk of the actor eligible for a National Award. Now, while speaking to PeepingMoon’s Managing Editor Ankita Bhalla in the Best of 2021 segment, Ranveer spoke about the National Award buzz surrounding his performance and what it feels for him.

Ranveer said that he is extremely happy with the love and adulation that he is receiving for ’83 but is not eyeing an award, however, if he gets one he will be extremely happy and motivated to do better. He said, “Have had great opportunities along the way, working with the best directors, developing some memorable characters and so I feel ‘ki mere liye itna kaafi hai yaar, actor hoon ki mujhe acha kaam mil raha hai, logon ka pyaar kamane ko mil raha hai, log pyaar de rahe hain izzat de rahe hain, aur kya chahiye, iske aage main ka boloon.”

He further said, “Agar koi award dena chah raha hai to main sar jhuka ke le loonga, after all what is an award at the end of the day, it is just a pat on your back with someone saying that ‘Hey you did well’ and that kind of motivation and inspiration propels you to do more and better. So I will take that award and propel myself to do more.”
