PeepingMoon Exclusive: Ayushmann Khurrana teams up with Aanand L Rai again after Shubh Mangal Saavdhan franchise

Ayushmann Khurrana is collaborating with Aanand L Rai once again! Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that the young superstar has signed yet another Aanand L Rai production venture that's believed to be set in Texas. The yet-untitled film marks their third collaboration after RS Prasanna's romantic comedy Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and its sequel Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan directed by Hitesh Kewalya. The film is currently in the development stage and will go on floors in around November this year.

"Ayushmann's new film with Aanand L Rai is completely different from their previous outings. It's a big-budget, multi-genre drama that will largely be shot in the US, and will present Ayushmann in a never-seen-before avatar. The actor has okayed the project and will dive into it after completing Junglee Pictures' Doctor G which rolls next month in Madhya Pradesh," a source close to the development informed us, further clarifying that it's a different project altogether and not the same gangster drama that Kartik Aaryan was earlier doing.

Billed as an ambitious project coming from Aanand L Rai's banner, this film will be directed by Anirudh Iyer Ganapathy. Having previously assisted Rai on his films Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) and Zero (2018), Anirudh will make his directorial debut with this film that's expected to have an ensemble supporting cast. A top young actress is said to have been approached to play the female lead in this film and we will inform you about that as soon as she signs on the dotted line.

Meanwhile, Ayushmann is ready with his next film, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui set to release in theatres soon after the cinemas open in India with full capacity. The Abhishek Kapoor directorial will see him romancing War actress Vaani Kapoor. The Dream Girl actor has also completed Anubhav Sinha's political drama Anek which is currently in post-production, readying for a release later this year.
