PeepingMoon Exclusive: Mona Singh turns DCP for Eros Now's next show, Deadline

Television-turned-film actress Mona Singh has lately been busy exploring the webspace like none of her counterparts. She has featured in web shows such as Yeh Meri Family, Mission Over Mars, and Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai over the last three years, and continues to challenge herself as a performer with characters like a woman who plans and execute her abusive husband's murder in Zee5's Black Widows. Coming up next, Singh has signed a new web-series for the streaming platform Eros Now.

Peepingmoon.com has learned that Mona Singh is next doing a mystery-thriller series, titled Deadline for Eros Now. Set in a prestigious law college, the show will see Singh playing the role of a female DCP cop in her late thirties who has to cancel her family trip to investigate what exactly happened in the college. While Singh leads the investigation the casting of the other actors has been kept under wraps. The show went on floors on Saturday in Mumbai and is scheduled to be wrapped by March-end.

Expected to premiere in June this year, Deadline will be directed by Rakhee Sandilya who's previously made Sumeet Vyas and Kalki Koechlin's slice-of-life film, Ribbon (2017) that revolved around a young married couple facing various challenges when they are forced to deal with an unplanned pregnancy. Television mini-series Ranjish (2016) fame Souvik Gupta has penned the script while Kushal Gada of Horns Media is producing.

Deadline is an addition to the massive entertainment catalogue Eros Now announced last December. The streaming service— committed to investing in quality programming that'll appeal to the Indian and global diaspora— had announced a slew of titles including movies, web shows, and short films across languages to premiere in 2021. Eros Now's next offering from its large lineup is the sports-drama series, Kadam starring Amit Sadh and Ronit Roy. The show about a father-son, who connects over their passion for football but are sundered apart by a clash of ideals and morals is scheduled to premiere on March 24!
