EXCLUSIVE: Sushant Singh Rajput turns 'Chichore' for Nitesh Tiwari’s student drama

Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, who delivered that masterpiece Dangal in 2016, is all set to start his next directorial. The film which is being made in collaboration with Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Fox Star Studios is said to be a riveting story on the current generation and is scheduled to release in August 2019. Although the casting hasn’t been officially announced yet, it is almost certain that the film will star Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor and Prateik Babbar in lead roles.

Now, PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned that the film has been titled Chichore. Which loosely means the kind of student who spends more time in the pursuit of girls than in his studies. Apparently the director thought Chhichoraa would be an apt title considering the characters the actors play in the film. Nitesh has already started pre-production and will begin workshops with the actors next month before they kick off the shooting in October in Mumbai.

Set in an engineering college, the film revolves around the lives of three college students and how they embrace success and failure with equanimity. Sushant, Shraddha and Prateik play these students with Sushant as the protagonist and Prateik as the baddie. Although details of Sushant’s and Shraddha’s characters haven’t been revealed yet, Prateik’s character is said to be of the coolest guy on campus. “Prateik plays Raggie, who is a topper academically and outstanding on the sports field as well. He’s the quintessential head boy and not just the teachers and faculty, even the girls adore him while the boys want to be like him,” a leading newspaper had recently reported.

Sushant is currently shooting for casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s directorial debut Kizie Aur Manny while Shraddha is busy with the promotion of her next release Stree and also completing the last leg of Prabhas’s Saaho in Hyderabad. Prateik, meanwhile, was recently seen in Abhinav Sinha’s Mulk.
