Exclusive: Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja Wedding Card REVEALED

At PeepingMoon.com we are sitting a tad smug. Even as a large section of the media went berserk misreporting so-called details about the Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja wedding, we stuck by our facts. The revelations of the past few days have proved that we got it right after all, from the dates to the venue. Now we thrill you with more details about the upcoming festivities…

Around 100 of the couple’s special guests have received their e-invites. But some who are even closer to the Kapoors didn’t even need that – proud father of the bride Anil Kapoor has personally called up each and every guest to invite them to Sonam’s big day. The e-invite was simply a formality that was even done away with in some cases.

PeepingMoon.com has got hold of the exclusive wedding invites, in soothing shades of green, which reflects the couple’s desire to conserve paper while still exuding elegance and beauty. The beautiful botanical motifs echo the natural undertones of their vision for their big day.

The fun kicks off with the mehendi afternoon on May 7, which will see guests clad in varying tones of white, as they congregate at the banquet hall at Sunteck, Signature Island, BKC, where Sonam owns a sprawling apartment.

May 8 will see Anand and Sonam being united in matrimony in a traditional Sikh wedding, called the Anand Karaj. Translating as Joyful Union, the core of the Anand Karaj is the 'lavan', wherein shabads are sung with the bride and groom circling the Guru Granth Sahib. The ceremony will take place between 11 am and 12.30 pm, which is according to the custom.

The venue of the wedding is the heritage bungalow Rockdale, which is the residence of Sonam’s maternal aunt and famed interior designer, Kavita Singh. Kavita herself is apparently a devout Sikh and is never spotted without a turban.

The same evening will be the reception with the newlyweds partying with family and friends at The Leela. Guests have been requested not to bring gifts, as their gracious presence is all that is desired. The Kapoors and Ahujas are clearly keeping it very relaxed and very special.

Meanwhile, lets reminiscence Sonam's and Anand's journey till now:
