Khandaan mehman nawazi in full display at private birthday party

Okay, you know that Salman Khan’s 52nd birthday was brought in at the actor’s Panvel farmhouse with the mother of all parties on Tuesday night at which a whole lot of Bollywood celebs grooved before the Tiger Zinda Haisuperstar cut a cake that was specially designed as a trophy with posters of the film. The pictures went viral online. But after the dust of the festivities had settled and most celebrants left the farmhouse next day, few people know what happened on the birthday itself. PeepingMoon.com is in the position to tell you.

According to our sources, the actual birthday party on 27th was a private and intimate affair without the band-baajaand shor-sharaba of the night before. In its place, soft music played and a close group that included patriarch Salim Khan’s entire family with handpicked outsiders gathered around Salman to celebrate the occasion and also the success of Tiger Zinda Hai  which by then was nudging the 200 crore benchmark. Katrina Kaif, who media circles say has worked her way back into the Khandaan and played hostess  the previous night, had left. But Sangeeta Bijlani and Iulia Vantur stayed.

This time, Salman didn’t cut a cake. And nor was the party held in the outdoors. It was played out in the living room of the farmhouse under warm and cozy lights. Salman’s sister Alvira took care of the nitty-gritty while the actor himself moved around familiarly spending time with all those who were present. Among them was India TV chief Rajat Sharma who was one of the few who stayed on from 26th. From Bollywood there was only Sonakshi Sinha, Subhash Ghai, Sajid and Warda Nadiadwala and Pulkit Samrat.

The highpoint of the second party was the Khandaan’s mehman nawazi – their legendary hospitality. And, of course, the birthday dinner itself provided by Ranjeet Caterers, the Chembur-based F&B event management company. Sources revealed that it has been serving Salman for years and that the actor personally sat on the menu for this party with them. So what was served? Several of the Bhai’s favourite starters and dishes including Razali Kebabs, Mutton Sheekh Kebabs and Tom Yum Prawns of which he is particularly fond. There was also Murgh Dum Biryani and Chole Kulche Amritsari. And a sinful spread for dessert including Shahi Gajjar HalwaJalebi Rabdiand a Kulfi that was specially ordered for Salman from Delhi. Yes, Delhi – why not? Guests departing from the Panvel farmhouse early this morning swore that it was worth driving through all the traffic on bad roads just to have this special Delhi Kulfi of Salman Khan’s 52nd birthday party!
