Exclusive: ‘Ranveer Singh is always happy, I have learned to stay positive from him,’ says Jatin Sarna about his ’83 co-star

Jatin Sarna blew everyone’s minds with his act in Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan starrer Sacred Games. As Bunty, he was ruthless, funny as well as dramatic. He is all set to regale us once again in his upcoming web film Bamfaad that stars Paresh Rawal’s son Aditya Rawal and Shalini Pandey in the lead. Jatin was also looking forward to the release of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer ’83 but that got postponed due to the Coronavirus lockdown.

Nevertheless, we caught up with the charismatic actor in an interactive Instagram live session. During the session, the questions invariably turned to Ranveer. When asked about his experience of working with Ranveer and what he learned from the actor, Jatin said, “Ranveer has a very good quality. He is always happy that is why he is such a good actor. He is happy with the life he has got. I have learnt to stay positive from him. I am realizing now that this is such a great quality to have in the current Coronavirus pandemic.”

He also shared some of the pranks that Ranveer did on the sets of ’83, Jatin said, “Baba (Ranveer) is extremely entertaining, when he wakes up he starts doing masti and when he goes to sleep then also he does masti. He is very happy, his wife is very positive. There are so many things to learn from him. Ranveer loves his work so much, that is something both of us share. He is very passionate about his work. I remember the first day we met. I had come in late as I had to cycle from Yari Raod to the sets. When I reached, we said hi to each other and the first thing he said to me was, ‘Arey bhai Bunty, tune toh sach mein chattrai khol di, bahut acha kaam kiya hai tune’ and I was like ok how did you like it and he was like ‘bahut mazza aa gaya’. From there on we bonded really well, we pull each other’s legs a lot and he prepares people for me to prank them.”

He further added, “He plans his pranks with me. There was this incident, there was this actor who was playing a Zimbabwean cricketer who goes to London and Sacred Games was about to release, so Ranveer made this foreign actor learn my dialogue that too in Hindi, ‘Chhatri daal kar nahi khola toh mera naam…’ and next day he made him say it in front of everyone. I was surprised that how did he know, but when I turned, I realized it was all Ranveer’s plan.”
