Okay, the cat’s out of the bag! The title of the film Sooraj Pancholi just signed with Cine 1 Studios is Satellite Shankar. Not much is known about this film but that Sooraj is most certainly going to be playing the title role of Shankar, a person with an amazing memory and the ability to connect to things instantly. The young actor’s had a dry period after his debut in 2015 with Nikkhil Advani’s Hero.
The only role he played worthy of some mention after that was in a music video titled Girlfriend Boyfriend for T Series opposite Jacqueline Fernandez. The single, which crossed 127 million views on YouTube, was released in 2016. Then suddenly, the offers began pouring in! And now Sooraj’s hands are full with four films in a year, the latest being Satellite Shankar.
Before this, he’s expected to complete Irfan Kamal’s untitled war drama in which he plays an Indian Army officer. The role will have an enthusiastic Sooraj visiting Army camps in Amritsar next month to prep for this role. The film, which will also be bankrolled by Cine 1 Studios, is said to be a soldier’s journey from the North of India to the country’s southernmost tip. Rhea Chakraborty, who was seen in the comedy-drama Bank Chor in 2017, is believed to have been cast opposite Sooraj in this film. PeepingMoon.com learned that while Rhea plays a pivotal role in Kamal’s film, she is not going to be Sooraj’s romantic interest. This role is reportedly going to a South Indian actress who has not yet been officially signed. The film will be shot in Kashmir in a start-to-end schedule of 60 days.
Meanwhile, Sooraj is even now catching his breath from the hectic shoot of Stanley D’Costa’s dance drama Time to Dance that’s been written by renowned choreographer-director Remo D’Souza. The film, which was wrapped up in the first week of August, marks the debut of Katrina Kaif’s sister Isabelle Kaif. She plays a ballroom dancer in love with Sooraj who is a street dancer. Waluscha De Sousa, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the Bollywood Badshah’s Fan in 2016, will also be a part of Time to Dance.
