It’s confirmed! Kareena Kapoor Khan is going to be acting in Hindi Medium 2. PeepingMoon.com sources say that the actress will have an extended cameo in the sequel to Irrfan’s hit comedy-drama of last year. She will only be seen in the second half of the film and is okay with that. Kareena has reportedly signed on the dotted line and will shoot her sequence during the film’s London schedule.
Irrfan, who himself returned from London where he was undergoing treatment for a rare cancer, is apparently all set to get back to work and begin Hindi Medium 2. The power performer will be returning to his much-loved character which is that of Delhi businessman Raj Batra. Radhika Madan, who made her big screen debut with Vishal Bhardwaj’s Patakhaa last year, has come on board to play Irrfan’s teen daughter in the sequel which will be helmed by Homi Adajania.

The sequel, just like the original, will raise pertinent questions about our education system and society. While the first part revolved around a couple that struggled to get their little daughter admitted to a good school, the sequel will see their daughter going to the US for higher education and facing trouble fitting into a system where English is the primary spoken language. The film will address the struggle of people from different origins who go to the US to study and try to fit in.
The sequel will also see Deepak Dobriyal returning as Shyam but in a longer role, this time as his son Mohan will also be making some important choices on higher education and career goals. Irrfan's daughter’s character is said to be as headstrong and opinionated as her mom, Meeta. Believed to be titled English Medium, the film goes on the floors in mid-April in Delhi.
