Exclusive: Brahmastra first look to come from Prayagraj this evening

On the inauspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, with millions visiting temples to worship Lord Shiva, the makers of the film Brahmastra are releasing the first look of the Bollywood fantasy film today. PeepingMoon.com sources say it will be done in Prayagraj (Allahabad) where the Kumbh Mela 2019 that began on January 14, concludes with the sixth and final Shahi Snan. It cannot get holier, for this Kumbh Mela is held at the confluence of the Ganges, the Yamuna and Sarasvati rivers in Prayagraj.

Brahmastra, which is produced by Dharma Productions and SaarthiE, and is being distributed by Fox Star Studios, stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni among others. It is directed by Ayan Mukerji. Shooting began in February 2018 at Bulgaria and the film is being readied for release in December this year.

And Nagarjuna, “A holy beginning for an EPIC journey.”

Significantly, all had the hashtag #Prayagraj and zeroed in on a map showing the holy town in UP. Ranbir, who is not on social media, stayed out of the teaser promo build up. Ranbir, Alia and Ayan were seen at the private Mumbai airport today afternoon, all set to jet off to  Prayagraj (Allahabad) soon after Alia and Mr. Bachchan tweeted that the first look will be out at 7:30 pm today.

Brahmastra, which is believed to be a romantic fairy tale in a supernatural format, is one of 2019’s most anticipated films. Ayan explained that Brahmastra is a contemporary film and its title “resonates with ancient wisdom, energies and power”. It was initially thought to be a romantic superhero film until Ranbir and Ayan cleared the air. Interestingly,

Mouni has told the media that she is the “only villain” in Brahmastra. The film was also shot in London, New York and Edinburgh. But this evening, all eyes will be on Prayagraj to see what’s coming from there!
