Udta Teer has clearly caught attention. The trailer has climbed to No. 1 on YouTube, while the conversation around the film has been largely upbeat, with viewers reacting to its unusual premise, comic chaos and the mystery around where the story is headed.

And that is perhaps the biggest win for the trailer. At a time when comedy trailers often reveal their best jokes upfront, Udta Teer leaves enough mystery behind the madness. The more the trailer reveals about Ayushmann Khurrana’s bizarre situation, the more questions it creates.

Ayushmann’s straight-faced comic act stands out, while Sara Ali Khan adds to the film’s high-energy world. The ensemble, action and deliberately over-the-top situations further fuel the chaos, making the trailer feel like one comic escalation after another.

The positive chatter around the trailer also suggests that audiences are responding to something beyond the jokes,  the curiosity around the story. That balance between comedy and mystery could well become the film’s biggest hook. For now, Udta Teer has managed to create the kind of pre-release buzz every comedy hopes for: people are laughing, talking about the premise and, more importantly, asking what happens next.

Directed by Akash A Kaushik and headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, the film brings together comedy, action and chaos, and is set to arrive in cinemas on October 9, 2026.
