The trailer of Udta Teer has introduced a rather interesting combination of actors coming together for a high-concept comedy. Led by Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, the film brings together Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Smita Tambe.

Ayushmann, who has explored comedy through unconventional characters in films like Dream Girl, Bala and Badhaai Ho, appears to be returning to a space that allows him to play with his comic timing once again. Sara, meanwhile, adds to the energetic tone visible throughout the trailer.

The supporting cast is where Udta Teer gets particularly interesting. Rahul Bose and Ram Kapoor bring their own screen presence to the mix, while Suhail Nayyar adds another dynamic to the ensemble. Gulshan Grover and Mukul Dev, meanwhile, appear to be stepping into the film’s quirky world with characters that add to its unpredictable tone.

Raghubir Yadav and Brijendra Kala further strengthen the comic ensemble, with their distinctive styles making them natural fits for a film built around situational humour. Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Smita Tambe complete an ensemble that gives the trailer a distinctly crowded yet lively feel.

What stands out is that Udta Teer doesn’t seem to depend on just one comic track. The trailer constantly moves between characters and situations, allowing different personalities to contribute to the humour. This gives the film the feel of an ensemble comedy where the interactions could be as important as the central storyline.

Directed by Akash A Kaushik and backed by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, Udta Teer releases in theatres on October 9. The trailer certainly sets up an ensemble-driven comic ride with plenty of room for chaos.
