What was Shivam Pandit doing in a Buddhist Monastery for 19 years? And did the peaceful life really make him forget how to fight?

When Awarapan ended in 2007, Shivam Pandit’s story seemed to have reached its heartbreaking conclusion. He was shot multiple times and appeared to die after finally finding redemption. Nineteen years later, however, Emraan Hashmi is back as Shivam in Awarapan 2, leaving fans with one obvious question, how exactly did he survive?

The teaser has already given us a glimpse of the answer. Shivam was rescued and treated by Buddhist monks, eventually finding refuge in a monastery. But that only makes his return more intriguing. What was he doing there all these years? Did he genuinely embrace a life of peace and meditation, or was the fighter within him simply waiting for the right reason to return?

The trailer makes one thing clear: whatever happened inside that monastery, Shivam certainly did not lose his survival instincts. He is back with the same aggression, pain and physical intensity, facing a new battle that appears to pull him right back into the world he had escaped.

And honestly, this is what makes Awarapan 2 interesting. Shivam was never a conventional hero. His biggest battle was always with himself, and now, after nearly two decades of supposedly peaceful living, watching him pick up the pieces of his old life could add an entirely new layer to the character.

Fans are already curious about what happened to Shivam during those missing years. Did the monastery heal him, or did it simply prepare him for the next war? That answer could be one of the most interesting parts of Awarapan 2.
