Despite the hype, Farhan Akhtar’s “120 Bahadur” lands quietly, Big names, But where’s the buzz?

Even after the second teaser of Farhan Akhtar’s "120 Bahadur," the buzz and excitement that should have been generated is completely absent. Despite a major banner (Excel Entertainment), a strong budget, and a renowned actor like Farhan Akhtar, the film has neither generated significant enthusiasm nor any ground-level buzz. It's one of the few films made on a grand scale today, yet still feels obscure.

The film's shooting was completed long ago. The work, conducted in extremely difficult conditions in remote locations like Ladakh, with temperatures of -10 degrees Celsius and high-altitude schedules, was heavily touted in the promotions. However, the long production time and uncertainty surrounding the pace of promotion have diminished its impact. Now, as the film is slowly being released, audiences' attention has shifted to other major films and web series.

Even watching Teaser 2, one gets the impression that the film focuses more on showmanship than emotions. Stale nationalistic dialogues, repeated visuals, and the "clichéd" patriotic formula all of these have been seen in many films before. Even the attempt to coincide with the teaser's birth anniversary seems more like a promotional strategy, rather than a genuine tribute.

Most surprising is the lack of discussion about the film on social media or in public spaces. This is a very worrying sign for a major war drama. When a film fails to connect with audiences despite such big names, a hefty budget, and an emotional trigger like "patriotism," it suggests that it may be lacking something soulful.
