Ishaan Khatter stresses action over intentions at Homebound press meet

Bollywood actor Ishaan Khatter recently stated at the press meet for his upcoming film Homebound that having good intentions isn't enough, but rather that concrete steps are essential to bring about real change in society. Ishaan said, “Good Intentions Are Not Enough.”

During the press meet, Ishaan emphasized that society cannot change simply with good intentions. Change requires transforming our thinking into action and taking concrete steps. He appealed that every segment of society, whether filmmakers, artists, or audiences, should identify social issues and work together to address them. He also said that cinema can bring to the fore questions that often go unnoticed, but it's our responsibility to understand and accept them.

Homebound is a socio-drama film by director Neeraj Ghaywan. It tells the story of two childhood friends who dream of wearing police uniforms. But as they move towards their goal, society's outdated thinking, inequalities, and circumstances create obstacles in their path. Set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 lockdown, the film offers a glimpse into a period when economic inequalities, unemployment, and social pressures were fully exposed. The film raises questions about how an ordinary person's life can suddenly change and the extent to which social structures can impact their dreams.

The film Homebound will be released in theaters on September 26, 2025, and is expected to be not just an entertaining film but also a cinematic offering that provokes deep thought and discussion. Meanwhile, Homebound has also received significant international recognition. The film has been nominated for the upcoming Oscars, which is a matter of pride for Indian cinema.
