Farah Khan's directorial film ‘Main Hoon Na' was released in the year 2004, in which Shahrukh Khan played the lead role. Along with him, Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan, Amrita Rao and Sunil Shetty were also seen in the film. After coming to theaters, this film proved to be a superhit at the box office. But do you know that not Sunil Shetty, but South's veteran actor Kamal Haasan was approached for this film first? This has been revealed by Farah Khan herself.
Recently, Farah Khan reached Shruti Haasan's Mumbai house for her cooking vlog. During the conversation, both of them got lost in old memories and shared funny anecdotes. During this, Farah told that she had first offered Shruti's father Kamal Haasan to play "Kamal sir was my first choice for Main Hoon Na, but then Suniel Shetty played that role. I went to Chennai to his office and narrated him the script, and he politely asked me to duck off." However, she did not reveal the reason why the veteran actor turned down the project.
'Main Hoon Na' was Farah Khan's directorial debut. It was made on a budget of Rs 25 crore and collected Rs 70.40 crore worldwide. The songs of the film 'Tumse Milke' and 'Main Hoon Na' are still popular among the audience. Especially, the onscreen chemistry of Sushmita Sen and Shahrukh Khan was highly appreciated.
On the other hand, talking about Kamal Haasan, he was recently seen in the Tamil film 'Thug Life' directed by Mani Ratnam. Through this film, he worked with Mani Ratnam after 37 years. Earlier, both of them gave a classic film like 'Nayakan' in 1987. However, ‘Thug Life’ did not perform as expected at the box office and could only collect Rs 97.25 crore. Now Kamal Haasan will be seen in his next film ‘Indian 3’, whose release date is not yet decided.
