From Salman to Sanjay Dutt: Bollywood legends who never won a National Award

Bollywood's King Khan Shahrukh Khan was recently honored with the National Award for the film ‘Jawan'. This is the same honor that every Indian actor dreams of. Shahrukh achieved this achievement after a long wait of three decades. 'Jawan' not only earned more than Rs 1000 crore at the box office, but Shahrukh's powerful acting also won the hearts of the audience. But, there are many veteran actors in the industry, who have not won a single National Award till date despite excellent work and tremendous fan following.

Salman Khan: The world is crazy about Salman Khan. Even at the age of 60, he impresses the audience with his action and charisma. His films earn in the billions. Still, Salman never got a National Award in a career of 30 years.

Dharmendra: Bollywood's 'He-Man' Dharmendra is still considered by people as their idol. Even at the age of 89, people's faces light up on hearing his name. He won many awards in a career spanning 7 decades, but the National Award remained with him.

Dev Anand: Known for his style and charisma, Dev Anand was a craze among young women. He was a successful actor, director and producer, and gave opportunities to many new stars. Despite this, he was never awarded the National Award.

Shammi Kapoor : Known for his amazing dance and unique style, Shammi Kapoor ruled the hearts of the audience in the 60s and 70s. In later years, he played strong supporting roles in many films, but he never got the National Award.

Sanjay Dutt :Active in the film industry for more than 4 decades, Sanjay Dutt played many types of roles, which were highly appreciated by the audience. Even at the age of 66, he is busy in films, but till date no National Award has come to his account.
