South cinema's famous actor Prakash Raj appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on July 30. This questioning was done in connection with the money laundering case related to the illegal promotion of online betting apps. The case is based on the FIR registered by the Cyberabad Police, which includes the names of 29 celebrities.
In the FIR, several actors and social media influencers have been accused of promoting betting apps through online advertisements. Prakash Raj is accused of being involved in the promotion of a gaming app 'Junglee Rummy' in the year 2016. However, the actor has clarified that he distanced himself from this promotion in 2017, when he understood the nature of this promotion. He has said that after this he did not support any type of gaming app.
The Enforcement Directorate is now investigating the financial transactions and digital transactions of the celebs in this whole matter. Many names like Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, Manchu Lakshmi, Nidhi Agarwal, Ananya Nagalla and TV anchor Srimukhi are involved in this case.
Rana Daggubati was called for questioning on July 23, but due to his busy schedule, he has asked for time. Now he has been asked to appear on August 13. Manchu Lakshmi has also been called on the same date. At the same time, Vijay Deverakonda has been summoned for questioning on August 6. ED is investigating this entire case under several legal sections, including allegations of online fraud and financial irregularities.
