Sonu Nigam Birthday Special: A melodious journey from Faridabad to global fame

Sonu Nigam's name needs no introduction in the Indian music world. Born on 30 July, Sonu Nigam has ruled the hearts of millions of listeners not only in India but all over the world with his melodious voice and soulful singing. Apart from Hindi, he has sung songs in many Indian languages including Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Oriya, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Malayalam, Nepali, Tulu, Chhattisgarhi and Manipuri, which is a proof of his versatility.

Sonu was born on 30 July 1973 in Faridabad, Haryana. His father Agam Kumar Nigam was also a singer himself and Sonu's musical journey also started from there. At the age of just four, Sonu sang Mohammad Rafi's famous song 'Kya Hua Tera Wada' with his father on stage for the first time. After this, he continued to perform with his father on stage many times.

Sonu moved to Mumbai with a dream of making a career in music. The initial years were full of struggles, but his hard work and dedication took him forward. In the early 90s, he sang bhajans and cover songs for T-Series, which gave him his first recognition. After this, he also lent his voice to films and achieved a special place with songs like 'Sandese Aate Hain' (Border), 'Kal Ho Na Ho', 'Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin'.

Sonu Nigam today is not only a successful singer, but he is also a great live performer, TV host and music director. The emotional depth and variety in his voice makes him one of the most influential singers of this generation.
