Dharma Productions has always encouraged new thinking and diversity. Now with Dhadak 2, directed by Shazia Iqbal, the banner is once again seen standing in support of female directors. At the film’s trailer launch, producer Karan Johar made it clear that he is very serious about working with female directors. KJo said, “We are very proud to have worked with women filmmakers and Shazia adds to that beautiful list.”

Among the influential and creative women filmmakers who have done outstanding work for Dharma Productions, Karan counted Meghna Gulzar, Ruchi Narayan, Sonam Narain and Gauri Shinde. To this elite list the Dharma Productions’ bossman added Shazia. Of Dhadak 2, that is co-produced by Zee Studios and Cloud 9 Pictures, Karan said, “I’m so proud that Shazia made this beautiful film for us and I’ll be eternally grateful to her storytelling and the emotion that she brought to the film”
