Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor is in the news these days. While her recently released film Raid 2 has proved to be a superhit at the box office, now she is ready for her first OTT release Mandala Murders. This crime thriller web series is releasing on Netflix on July 25. Surveen Chawla will also be seen in an important role along with Vaani in this series.
Vaani said about her OTT debut in an exclusive conversation with Hindustan Times, "In films you get only two-three hours in which the journey of the character has to be shown, but the long format gives an opportunity to discover yourself as an actor. I am very excited to explore this medium."
However, Vaani is also in the headlines right now for Abir Gulaal, which was her upcoming film with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. But the film was banned after the Pahalgam terror attack in April. Reacting to this, Vaani said, "Our intention was never to hurt anyone's sentiments. This film was made to spread love, but it received hatred. It was shot at a time when there was no such situation." Vaani further said, "The makers had taken all the necessary permissions. But we all understood and respected the sentiments of the country after the attack. We have always followed the law and never crossed any limits. The sentiments of the country are paramount for us.”
