Ekta Kapoor reveals why she first said no to reviving kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi

The show 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' which has proved to be a milestone in the history of Indian television is going to come in front of the audience once again. The first promo of the show has already created a stir and the shooting has also started. The special thing is that after years, the duo of Ekta Kapoor and Smriti Irani are working together again. But do you know that the decision to bring this show back was not easy for Ekta Kapoor?

Ekta Kapoor said in her social media post that when the idea of reviving the show on completion of 25 years came, she flatly refused. She wrote, "When 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' was about to complete 25 years and there was talk of bringing it back, my first reaction was - No! Why would I want to touch those old memories?"

According to Ekta, today's television scenario has completely changed from before. The medium which was once dependent on 9 cities, is now divided on digital platforms. She raised the question whether today's audience will be able to repeat that historic TRP? But then she was reminded that the real identity of this show was not just TRP. She further wrote, "This show reached the global level and took Indian traditions to the world. It talked about issues like domestic violence, marital rape, age shaming and euthanasia. This was the real legacy of this story."

Now Ekta is bringing this show back in limited episodes, the purpose of which is not just entertainment but to shake the thinking and make a positive impact in the society. Also, in the first promo of the show, the audience has once again got a glimpse of Smriti Irani as Tulsi Virani. 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' is now going to return in a new style, with a new thinking from July 29.
