After ₹15,000 crore Bhopal property blow, Is Saif Ali Khan's pataudi palace also at risk?

Saif Ali Khan has recently suffered a major setback in the case of Nawabi properties of Bhopal, after which the question has started arising in the minds of the people whether he has also lost his ancestral Pataudi Palace located in Gurgaon. But let us make it clear that Saif's Pataudi Palace is not involved in this dispute and is still owned by him. It is located in Gurgaon district of Haryana and was historically built by Nawab Iftikhar Ali Khan. Later it was inherited by his son Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Saif Ali Khan bought it again in 2014. He also renovated it and today this property is completely safe.

The root of the dispute is the Nawabi properties located in Bhopal and Raisen in Madhya Pradesh, whose total estimated value is said to be more than 15,000 crores. These properties include Flag Staff House, Noor-us-Sabah Palace, Dar-as-Salam, Habibi's Bungalow, Ahmedabad Palace and Kohefiza properties. Recently, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has quashed the lower court's order declaring Saif Ali Khan, his mother Sharmila Tagore and sisters as the heirs of Nawab Hamidullah Khan's property and ordered a re-hearing of the case.

Apart from this, the central government has declared these properties as 'enemy property'. The reason for this is that Nawab Hamidullah Khan's elder daughter Abida Sultan had gone to Pakistan at the time of partition. Under the Enemy Property Act, if an heir goes to Pakistan, then his Indian properties come under the Government of India. In this regard, the government had issued a notice in 2014, to which Saif objected in 2015 and got a stay, but in December 2024 the High Court removed that stay.
