Last month the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam shook the entire country. According to reports, the terrorists asked the religion of the people before attacking and then opened fire, killing about 26 innocent people. While anger spread across the country after this incident, the silence of many Bollywood stars also remained under question, among which Aamir Khan's name was prominently taken.
In a recent interview to a news channel, Aamir Khan described this terrorist attack as "ruthless and cowardly". He said, "This attack was not only on the common people, but on the unity of our country. What does asking religion and then firing indicate? You or I could also have been there. This is the cowardice of the terrorists." Aamir also clarified that he is not on social media, so he could not react immediately. He said that hurt by this incident, he postponed the trailer release of his film Sitare Zameen Par and also cancelled the screening of Andaz Apna Apna.
Regarding murder in the name of religion, Aamir said, "Islam never allows killing an innocent. Neither does attacking a woman nor a child. Those who spread violence in the name of religion cannot be Muslims."
Aamir also said that this attack shook him to the core. He did not leave the house for several days and said that he expresses his patriotism through films.
