Sonali Bendre breaks silence on Raj Thackeray link-up rumors: “Really? I Doubt It”

Sonali Bendre, one of the beautiful and popular actresses of Bollywood, may be seen less in films today, but her name often comes up in some discussion or the other. Recently, after an old video surfaced, Sonali's name started being linked with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray. There were rumors that Raj Thackeray once had a crush on Sonali Bendre. Now Sonali Bendre herself has broken the silence on these rumors and has expressed her opinion frankly.

While talking to news agency ANI, Sonali completely rejected all these rumors. When she was asked whether Raj Thackeray really had a crush on her, Sonali smiled and replied – "Really?… I doubt it." She also clarified that the conversation in the viral video, which is being speculated about, was actually her talking to her sister, who was also present there at the same time.

Sonali criticised such rumours and said, "I don't think it is right to talk like this. Families are involved in this, people are involved, so it is not right to spread such things." She said that there is a long-standing family relationship between her and Raj Thackeray's family. She said, "My brother-in-law, who is a cricketer, used to play cricket with Raj's cousin. My sister's mother-in-law, who was our English Literature professor, used to teach us at (Ramnarayan) Ruia College."

Sonali further said, "Raj Thackeray's wife Sharmila's mother and my aunt were good friends. Both the families have known each other for a long time. I was always on tour and hardly came to Maharashtra once or twice a year." When asked about joining politics, Sonali clearly replied, "No, I am not interested in politics. I think it requires a thick skin, which I don't have. I am not even politically correct."
